Enzo Zidane, Zinedine Zidane’s eldest son, will test his luck at another club.
On Saturday, Deportivo Alaves announced Enzo’s transfer to Lausanne-Sport, as El Glorioso and the French midfielder agreed to terminate the contract that united them.
“The club thanks you for your commitment and work and wishes you the best of luck,” Alaves said.
Enzo’s professional career started well. The youngster scored on his debut for Real Madrid in a 6-1 thrashing of Cultural y Deportivo Leonesa in the 2016-17 Copa del Rey. It was the first time Zinedine had played one of his four sons in a competitive game and it came one decade after he had last donned the white shirt.
The young midfielder, who used to play under his mother’s name – Fernandez – has failed to emulate his father thus far, but as Didier Deschamps once declared: “He won’t live his father’s history and I think Zizou will agree with me. Zizou lived his life, had his career. Enzo will have his own.”
Alaves signed Enzo for three seasons in June.
