Ireland favourite Robbie Brady was “conscious and talking in the dressing room” following a horrific clash of heads during his country’s 1-0 World Cup qualification defeat of Georgia on Thursday.

The versatile left-flank wanderer has been a regular for his homeland since his 2012 debut, and notably nodded the winner in a shock defeat of Italy during Euro 2016, but was left motionless on the turf 15 minutes from the end of the bout due to a collision with Saba Kverkvelia.

Brady’s club Norwich City reported that he was in conversation with his international colleagues post-match, but still showed a note of concern by tweeting that “thoughts are with Robbie after that nasty clash of heads.”

Ireland prevailed in a scrappy contest at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium thanks to Seamus Coleman bundling home on 56 minutes for his first international strike. The Everton right-back’s moment was unsurprisingly overshadowed by Brady’s issue, however.

The Manchester United academy graduate, 24, was next slated to play on Sunday in Moldova for another World Cup qualifier, with a return to domestic duty set for Norwich’s Championship hosting of Rotherham United on Oct. 15.
